WHAT IS CORRECTIVE DANCE TRAINING (CDT)
What is Corrective Dance Training? (CDT)?
Corrective Dance Training combines somatic practices with dance conditioning in order to help a dancer improve his or her performance. Each session is adapted specifically to suit individual needs and is delivered through a series of tailored exercises and hands-on correction. The human body is designed to adapt to the stresses and demands placed on it but often it does not achieve this in the most efficient or safest of ways.
Corrective Dance Training aims to correct bad habits that the body has adapted during its efforts to keep up with the rigorous demands of dance training. Even small adjustments to movement patterns can have dramatic effects on extensions, balance, muscle building, flexibility, and injury prevention. Through Corrective Dance Training, dancers will learn to optimise their own body and achieve better results in their dance training.
Who Can Benefit?
CDT is equally beneficial for students struggling with their technique as well as those simply looking to develop a competitive edge and reach ahead. Programs are designed with individual goals and needs in mind. Programs are available for dancers of all levels, ages 12 and up. Adult beginner dancers are strongly encouraged in order to get the most out of their training!
